Precision meets durability with the Minebea 17PM-K441-04VS NEMA 17 Stepper Motor. Manufactured by Minebea (NMB), a global leader in precision components, this hybrid bipolar stepper motor is designed for high-accuracy positioning and reliable torque output.
Unlike generic stepper motors, the 17 PM series is renowned for its industrial-grade build quality, smooth operation, and low vibration. It is the ideal replacement or upgrade motor for 3D Printers (Creality Ender 3, Prusa, Anet), CNC routers, laser cutters, and precision robotics projects using Arduino or ESP32. The motor features a convenient detachable cable design, making wire management and replacement effortless.
Key Features & Benefits
- Industrial Quality (Minebea/NMB): Built with high-grade bearings and magnetic materials, offering superior longevity compared to standard generic motors.
- High Torque & Precision: Features a 1.8° step angle (200 steps per revolution), allowing for microscopic positioning accuracy when paired with micro-stepping drivers.
- Detachable Wiring: Equipped with a 6-pin JST-PH style socket on the motor body. This allows you to easily unplug cables without the need for soldering, making maintenance and cable routing significantly easier.
- Standard NEMA 17 Form Factor: Fits universally into standard NEMA 17 mounting brackets ($42mm times 42mm$ faceplate).
- Bipolar 4-Wire Operation: Compatible with all standard stepper drivers, including A4988, DRV8825, TMC2208/2209, and TB6600.

This motor uses a 4-wire Bipolar configuration. The connector on the motor has 6 pins, but only 4 are connected.
- Coil Pair A: Usually Pins 1 & 3
- Coil Pair B: Usually Pins 4 & 6
How to identify pairs without a datasheet:
- Take a multimeter and set it to Continuity/Resistance mode.
- Touch two wires together. If you get a beep (or low resistance ~3-10 ohms), those two wires form a Coil Pair.
- Connect one pair to A+ and A- on your driver, and the other pair to B+ and B-.
- If the motor spins backward, power down and swap the position of one pair (e.g., swap A+ and A-).
Common Applications
- 3D Printing: X, Y, and Z-axis movement; Extruder motors (high torque required).
- CNC Machines: Small desktop CNC routers and engravers.
- Linear Motion: Driving lead screws or belts in camera sliders.
- Robotics: Precision arms and animatronics.
