Himedia MacConkey Agar with 0.15% Bile Salts, CV and NaCl, 500 gm

This is the MacConkey Agar with 0.15% Bile Salts, CV and NaCl, Pack Size: 500 gm culture media for Laboratory Use.

Ingredients: 

• Gelatin peptone: 17.000 Gms / Litre
• Tryptone: 1.500 Gms / Litre
• Peptone: 1.500 Gms / Litre
• Lactose: 10.000 Gms / Litre
• Bile salts: 1.500 Gms / Litre
• Sodium chloride: 5.000 Gms / Litre
• Neutral red: 0.030 Gms / Litre
• Crystal violet: 0.001 Gms / Litre
• Agar: 15.000 Gms / Litre
• Final pH ( at 25°C) : 7.1±0.2 Gms / Litre
• **Formula adjusted, standardised to suit performance parameters

Directions

Suspend 51.53 grams in 1000 mL purified/ distilled water. Heat to boiling with gentle swirling to dissolve the agar completely.
Sterilise by autoclaving at 15 lbs pressure (121°C) for 15 minutes. Avoid overheating. Cool to 45 – 50°C and pour into sterile Petri plates. The surface of the medium should be dry when inoculated.
